Tony Forrest: artist working in oils, painting the scenery around the Cornish coast. Harbours, beach scenes and coastal scenery. Tony has been a professional artist for over 30 years painting the wildlife of Africa and more recently the Cornish coast and harbours.
2 Day Oil painting workshop:
Painting a detailed oil of a lion cub over 2 consecutive Saturdays. A prepared canvas panel and reference photo will be supplied to enable students to launch straight into the painting process. Where drying time needs to be accommodated students will begin a second smaller picture with the aim of taking away 2 paintings at the end of the course. The class will have an informal atmosphere which should also encourage the students to experiment and be open-minded.
Materials to bring:
- A 12″ x 10″ painting panel (for the second picture).
- A good selection of Standard Oil Paints.
- Liquin or other painting medium
- Selection of wide and small brushes, including No. 1 & 2 Sable or similar. They need to be good quality and in good condition for the detail.
- Palette
- Cleaning Solution, paper towels etc.
