Painting a Winter Landscape in Oils with Tony Forrest

Something completely different and quite a challenge. There are two scenes in case one is finished early. They will best be painted using a simple palette, and medium bristle brushes.
Ultramarine, Pthalo blue, burnt umber, burnt sienna, yellow ochre, quinacridone violet. Use a canvas or board any size, but not too large. 16 x 12 or thereabouts should do. Also, because this has a lot of high value tones, please stain your boards with a warm grey such as burnt sienna/umber mixed with a bit of white. Be brave – you can go quite dark with your ground tone. Don’t use blue. Staining the boards is especially important this time.
