After a brief introduction of looking at the work from other makers for inspiration, you will be taught how to make your own ceramics pots following demonstrations of thumb and rolled pot techniques.
You will make 2 small pots during this workshop.
You will be shown how to extend your ideas, encouraged to imbue your work with significant and symbolic details to creatively personalise and adorn your work. We shall focus on nature motifs using bespoke press moulds and collected natural forms as source material. You will practice how to use coloured slips and inscribe into them for additional hand drawn scraffito effects.
We shall be using locally sourced stoneware clay which will have a single bisque firing and then returned to Stable Art for collection by you at a later date.
